My Molecularium Privacy Policy

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (“Rensselaer”) respects your privacy. The My Molecularium App, which is owned by Rensselaer, has been designed with your privacy in mind.

Collection of Information through the App

The App does not collect your name, location or any other type of personally identifiable information from you.

The only information collected, used and stored by the App is information needed by the App to function, such as information concerning the levels you have completed.

Third Party Collection of Information

The App is distributed through Google Play and the Apple App Store. Google and Apple may collect personally identifiable information from you to allow downloads of the App and to allow “in-app purchases.”

Rensselaer has no control over and no access to any personally identifiable information you provide to Google or Apple. For a description of the type of information collected by Google and Apple and their privacy policies, please follow these links:

In addition, you have the option to share information from the App with others. If you choose to do so, you may share your scores on leaderboards maintained by Google and Apple. You also may share screen shots of your game scores through external applications, such as text messaging applications and email. Use of these external applications and features is not required to use the App.

If you choose to share your results on the leaderboard, please consult the applicable Google or Apple privacy policy regarding their privacy practices. If you choose to use external applications such as email to share your game results, please consult the privacy policy(ies) for the external applications you use to obtain a description of any personally identifiable information collected, used and shared by those applications.

The App was built using services provided by Unity Technologies (Unity). Unity may collect certain data from your use of the App, including but not necessarily limited to: unique device identifiers (e.g., IDFV for iOS devices and Android ID for Android devices) ); IP address; country of install (mapped from IP address); device manufacturer and model platform type (iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, etc.) and the operating system and version running on your system or device; language; CPU information such as model, the number of CPUs present, frequency, and instruction set support flags; the graphics card type and vendor name; graphics card driver name and version (example: “nv4disp.dll 6.10.93.71”); which graphics API is in use (example: “OpenGL 2.1” or “Direct3D 9.0c”); amount of system and video RAM present; current screen resolution; version of the Unity Editor used to create the game; sensor flags (e.g., device support for gyroscope, touch pressure or accelerometer); application or bundle identification (“app ID”) of the game installed; unique advertising identifiers provided for iOS and Android devices (e.g., IDFA or Android Ad ID); and a checksum of all the data that gets sent to verify that it did transmit correctly. Information Provided to Rensselaer by Google and/or Apple

Rensselaer may receive some information regarding usage of the App from Google and/or Apple. Information provided by Google and/or Apple may include de-identified and/or aggregated information relating to use of the App by some or all users. Google and Apple do not provide personally identifiable information to Rensselaer relating to use of the App.

Security of Information

Rensselaer uses commercially reasonable measures to protect information collected in the App or from third parties. However, no means of electronic transmission or storage can be made 100% secure and Rensselaer cannot guarantee the absolute security of information we may receive.

Your Agreement to this Policy and Right to Object

By using the App, you are agreeing to the My Molecularium Privacy Policy. You also are acknowledging the privacy policy is part of the My Molecularium Terms of Use.

If you do not agree to the My Molecularium Privacy Policy or Terms of Use, please do not use the App.

If you have questions or concerns about this privacy policy or would like to request access to and/or correction of information that Rensselaer may have concerning you, please contact info@molecularium.com. If you contact Rensselaer, we may keep a record of that contact, including your email address, name and contents of the communication.

Children Under 13 Years of Age

The App has been designed for use by individuals who are 13 years old or older. Rensselaer does not collect personal information (as defined in the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

If you are under 13, please DO NOT send any information about yourself to Rensselaer, including your name, address, telephone number, or email address.

If Rensselaer learns it has received personal information from a child under the age of 13, Rensselaer will delete that information as quickly as possible.

If you believe that Rensselaer may have received any personal information from or about a child under the age of 13, please contact us at info@molecularium.com so that Rensselaer can take appropriate measures to delete such information.

Other Disclosures Required or Allowed by Law

Rensselaer reserves the right to disclose information relating to your use of the App or received from you via other means (e.g., email): (1) to enforce or apply our Terms of Use; (2) protect the rights, property or safety of Rensselaer or another person; (3) to comply with a subpoena, court order, search warrant or other legal or regulatory request; or (4) as otherwise required by law.

Policy Effective Date and Updates

The My Molecularium Privacy Policy is effective as of July 7, 2017

Rensselaer reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy in its sole discretion to change, modify, add or remove portions of the Privacy Policy at any time by posting the amended Privacy Policy in the App or on the applicable Google and/or Apple store.
